The golfer now faces the longest and most intimidating
carry on the course. The drive must be played over a
deep and spectacular canyon to the distant fairway turf.
The hole is normally downwind, which may reduce the
fear somewhat and the fairway area is generous. The
entire hole lies on a shelf with a sharp precipice running
all the way down the left side.
The Redan shaped green will offer many varied pin
positions. There is plenty of playable area to the right
for those choosing a less demanding route to the hole.
